# What is the functionality of the ports on the back of a GateWay?

The GateWay features two dedicated WAN and LAN ports. Additionally on the [M6E6](/products/gateway-m6e6/), there are four other ports that can be configured for WAN or LAN functionality. The [GW211](/products/gateway-211/) has three additional LAN ports that support Power over Ethernet (802.3af).
