Install and connect the CuePoint server

The CuePoint server is designed to fit directly into your rack-mount environment and connect seamlessly to existing equipment. After installing CuePoint, you configure it using Control. When configuration is complete, CuePoint can send video and teleprompting feeds to talent in the field.

CuePoint requires a video feed to transmit video. Use the SDI 1 and SDI 2 ports on the back of the server to feed the video to the server. The format of this video feed is detected automatically.

  1. Rack mount the CuePoint server.
  2. Connect an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the back of the server.
  3. Connect a monitor, keyboard, and mouse either directly to the back of the server or through a KVM switch.
  4. Connect two SDI cables to the SDI 1 and SDI 2 video input ports on the back of the server.
  5. Plug in the power cord.
  6. If necessary, on the front of the server, press the Power button.

Log in to the CuePoint server

  1. In the Username field, type user.
  2. In the Password field, type dejero.

After logging into the CuePoint server, use the dashboard to configure the CuePoint server properly. For more information, visit support.dejero.com to read the Dejero CuePoint 50 User Guide.

Ensure network connectivity

To ensure that CuePoint can communicate with Control and external browsers, you must have:

  • Internet connectivity to and from the server over a publicly-addressable IPv4 address.
  • At least one DNS resolver that can resolve external hostnames and is accessible to the server.
  • Sufficient connection bandwidth to support the desired number of concurrent feeds and selected video resolution. For best results, the CuePoint requires a 25 Mb/s uplink connection to the internet.

If CuePoint is behind a network firewall, set up rules on the firewall to allow the following:

  • Outbound UDP and TCP packets sent to ports 1024 to 65535 and their corresponding stateful responses.
  • Outbound TCP connections to port 80 and 443.
  • Outbound UDP and TCP packets to port 53 of the DNS resolver and their corresponding stateful responses.
  • Outbound UDP packets to port 123 and their corresponding stateful responses.

If your browser is behind a network firewall, set up rules on the firewall to allow the following:

  • UDP and TCP packets sent from browsers to ports 49160 to 46200 on the CuePoint server and their corresponding stateful responses.
  • Outbound UDP and TCP packets sent to port 3478 and 19302 and their corresponding stateful responses.
  • Outbound TCP connections to port 80 and 443.
  • Outbound UDP packets to port 123 and their corresponding stateful responses.
