FlexPoint 111

Note: The FlexPoint receiver uses balanced audio for IFB. You can attach a TRS cable directly to FlexPoint. If you have XLR infrastructure, you can use female XLR to male TRS adapter cables.

1. Rack-mount the FlexPoint receiver.
2. Connect an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the back of the transceiver.
3. If you are connecting the transceiver to an additional Ethernet network for redundancy, connect an Ethernet cable to Ethernet port 2.
4. Connect a monitor, keyboard, and mouse either directly to the back of the receiver or through a KVM switch.
5. If necessary, perform one or more of the following actions:
   • Plug your reference signal (genlock) input cable into the Ref In port on the back of the receiver.
   • To use IFB, plug a ¼” mono TRS audio cable into the IFB 1 input port on the back of the transceiver. You cannot use 1-piece straight adapters with no cable between TRS and XLR due to space constraints.
6. On the back of the transceiver, plug one SDI cable into the SDI 1 input port and one SDI cable into the SDI 3 output port.
7. Plug in the two power cords. The receiver turns on.

When setup is complete, FlexPoint 111 can receive live broadcasts from transmitters or transmit to another receiver output.

To ensure that your Dejero video transmission sources can communicate with the receiver portion of FlexPoint, you must have:

• Internet connectivity to and from the receiver over a publicly-addressable IPv4 address.
• At least one DNS resolver that can resolve external hostnames and is accessible to the receiver.
• Sufficient connection bandwidth to support the desired number of concurrent live streams and file and clip transfers.The maximum bitrate ranges between 2.5 Mb/s and 60 Mb/s, depending on the live resolution selected. For example, to support two concurrent live streams at UHD 60 resolution, you need at least 60 Mb/s for download, 60 Mb/s for upload, and 2 Mb/s for overhead. Additional bandwidth is required to support concurrent file and clip transfers.

Note: Network address translation (NAT), port address translation (PAT), and proxy firewalls are only supported if the translation or proxying is completely transparent to the application layer.

In most cases, FlexPoint is behind a network firewall. On your firewall, set up rules to allow the following:

• Outbound UDP and TCP packets sent on port 6001 and their corresponding stateful responses.
• Inbound UDP and TCP packets destined for port 6001 and their corresponding stateful responses. If PAT is required, use any port number as a listening port provided that the firewall forwards that port traffic to port 6001 on the FlexPoint receiver.
• Outbound TCP packets from port 443 and 444 and their corresponding stateful responses.
• Outbound TCP packets from port 53 of the DNS resolver and their corresponding stateful responses.

Prerequisite: The FlexPoint receiver requires an IPv4 IP address that does not change. You can configure a static IP address or use a DHCP reservation.

Configure a static IP address

1. In Windows, open a command prompt.
2. At the command prompt, type netsh interface ipv4 show config, and, if necessary, note the subnet mask, default gateway, and primary and secondary DNS for each Ethernet connection.
3. Type netsh interface ipv4 set address “Ethernet” static<IPv4 address> <subnet mask> <gateway>. Use values for the IPv4 address, subnet mask, and gateway for the static IP address that you are assigning.
4. If you are using Ethernet port 2, type netsh interface ipv4 set address “Ethernet 2” static<IPv4 address> <IPv4 subnet mask> < gateway IPv4 address>. Use values for the IPv4 address, subnet mask, and gateway for the static IP address that you are assigning.
5. After the receiver reinitializes the network, type netsh interface ipv4 set dns “Ethernet” static<primarydns>. Use the primary DNS from step 2 or as required for your network.
6. Type netsh interface ipv4 set dns “Ethernet” static<secondaryDNS>index=2. Use the secondary DNS from step 2 or as required for your network.
7. If you are using Ethernet port 2, repeat steps 5 and 6 for the Ethernet 2 connection.
8. Type netsh interface ipv4 show config to confirm that the IP address information is set correctly.

Use a DHCP reservation

1. At the command prompt, type ipconfig /all.
2. Record the physical address values for each Ethernet adapter.
3. Specify those, as needed, in your network’s DHCP server configuration.
