Description:

The message “Error 09: Device needs to be assigned to a server output. Contact your system administrator.” appears when attempting to start a live stream. 

Cause:

The transmitter has not been assigned to a receiver’s output.

Resolution:

1. Navigate to the transmitter’s page in Control under Manage -> Sources
2. Click on the pencil icon
3. Under Assignments select an output for Live:
4. Save changes by pressing the green check mark on the top right
