Description:
When using a Dejero Receiver with a GateWay, traffic from port 6001 must be forwarded to the receiver’s internal IP address. The steps below outline the procedure necessary to configure a GateWay using the default settings:
Additional Information:
- Ensure that the receiver has a static IP assigned to it.
- On Windows-based receivers
- Click START. If only the command prompt is visible, enter explorer into the command prompt and press ENTER, then click START
- Make note of the IPv4 address
- Click Start
- Enter Control Panel
- Select Network and Internet
- Select View Network Status and Tasks
- Select Change Adapter Settings
- Right-click the adapter to configure
- Select Properties
- Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
- Select Use the following IP address
- In the IP Address field enter the desired static IP. Note that by default, the static IP address must start with 100.64.0.x or 192.168.1.x, depending on the GateWay’s configuration.
- In the Subnet Mask field, enter 255.255.255.0
- In the Default Gateway field, enter 100.64.0.1 or 192.168.1.1
- Select Use the Following DNS Server Addresses
- In the Preferred DNS server enter 8.8.8.8
- In the Alternate DNS server enter 8.8.4.4
- Select OK
- Select Close
- On Linux-based receivers (WayPoint 3)
- Select Configure Interfaces from the main menu
- Select the interface to be configured. WAN0 is the Ethernet port right next to the HDMI ports on the back of the WayPoint3. WAN1 is the port to the left of the USB ports
- Move the cursor down to STATIC IP and press SPACE
- Press TAB to enter the configuration window
- In the IP field enter the desired static IP. Note that by default, the static IP address must start with 100.64.0.x or 192.168.1.x, depending on the GateWay’s configuration.
- In the Netmask field, enter 255.255.255.0
- In the Gateway field, enter 100.64.0.1 or 192.168.1.1
- In the DNS servers field, enter 8.8.8.8
- In the (one per line) field, enter 8.8.4.4
- Press TAB so that the cursor is next to < OK >
- Press ENTER
- Select Go Back
- Select Reboot
- On Windows-based receivers
- Ensure that the GateWay has a public-facing static IP.
- Open control.dejero.com
- Click on the magnifying glass in the top left corner
- Enter the GateWay’s serial number
- Select the GateWay’s serial number
- Select the Information tab
- Verify that an IP address is listed in the Static Public IP field
- If there is no IP address or the Static Public IP field is not listed, please contact your Dejero Sales Representative to request a static public IP. Note that there may be additional costs.
- Make note of the Static Public IP.
- Forward inbound traffic on port 6001 to the receiver
- Open control.dejero.com
- Click on the magnifying glass in the top left corner
- Enter the GateWay’s serial number
- Select the GateWay’s serial number
- Select the Routing tab
- Select Edit
- Ensure that Port Forwarding is selected under Forwarding Mode
- Select Add Rule
- From the dropdown under Protocol select UDP
- In the field under Redirect IP enter the static IP configured in step 10 of section 1 above.
- Under Port Range enter 6001
- Press TAB to move to the next field and enter 6001
- Under Redirect Port Range enter 6001
- Press TAB to move to the next field and enter 6001
- Select Add Rule
- From the dropdown under Protocol select TCP
- In the field under Redirect IP enter the static IP configured in step 10 of section 1 above.
- Under Port Range enter 6001
- Press TAB to move to the next field and enter 6001
- Under Redirect Port Range enter 6001
- Press TAB to move to the next field and enter 6001
- Select SAVE
- Configure the receiver’s Control Page
- Open control.dejero.com
- Click on the magnifying glass in the top left corner
- Enter the receiver’s serial number
- Select the receiver’s serial number
- Click the edit button in the top right corner (it looks like a pencil on a square)
- In the IP Address 1 field, enter the Public Static IP address from section 2, followed by :6001
- For example, if the Public Static IP address was 11.22.33.44, then enter 11.22.33.44:6001
- Click the green checkmark to save the changes
- Click Check Status beside the Public Static IP entered in step 6 to verify Control can communicate with the receiver. If the server check fails, verify all previous steps were performed correctly.
- If the server check passes, test functionality.
