Description:
In order to stream from a transmitter to Facebook Live a Cloud Server is needed. If a Cloud Server is not available please contact the Dejero Sales department to request one. The transmitter will stream to the Cloud Server which, in turn, will publish to Facebook Live.
Additional Information:
Facebook Business Page Configuration
- Log into the Facebook Page that will host the video and select Publishing Tools
- Click on Video Library and choose +Live
- Select Use a persistent stream key
- Make note of the Server URL and the Persistent Stream Key
Facebook Personal Page Configuration
- Log into Facebook
- In the Status Update box, click on Live Video
- Click on Go Live or Create Live Video Event
- Select Streaming Software
- Click Advanced Settings
- Ensure that Use a persistent stream key is enabled
- Note the Server URL and the Stream Key
Cloud Server Configuration
- Sign into Control
- Go to Live > Grid and assign a transmission source to the Cloud Server
- Go to Manage > Outputs and select the Cloud Server output
- Click on the pencil icon to edit the settings
- In the Encoder Configuration section, select one of the encoders
- Enable the encoder by putting a checkmark in Enabled
- For the Destination field, paste the Server URL from Step 3 under Facebook Configuration
- Paste the Stream Key from either the Facebook Business Page Configuration or the Facebook Personal Page Configuration into the Filename field
- Ensure that Require Authentication box is unchecked if available
- For the Encoder Preset field, choose one of the Facebook presets:
- Facebook 854 x 480 – 1600 kbit/s video, 128 kbit/s audio
- Facebook 1280 x 720 – 2500 kbit/s video, 128 kbit/s audio
- Click on the green checkmark to save the changes
- Start the live transmission on the Transmitter
Facebook Completion
- Add the Video Title and Video Tags
- Click the Go Live button to begin the Live post
The Go Live button will remain faded until Facebook detects a stream from the Cloud Server. This can be the slate (background) file.
Using Schedule Live
- Select a date and time when you want to go live.
- When you schedule your live video, an announcement will be published immediately.
- Verify your live video feed at least 20 minutes before the scheduled start time. To verify it, preview the feed by opening the scheduled video from your Timeline using the Edit Post button.
- People following your event will be notified about your scheduled broadcast, and some may be waiting for you at the scheduled start time. The live video will begin automatically at the scheduled start time. You must go live within 10 minutes of the scheduled time or your video will be canceled.
