Description:
Software version 6.6.1.8 supports CrowdStrike on Waypoint 3.
Steps for preparing a USB drive
- Login to the CrowdStrike portal
- Click the main menu icon in the upper-left corner
- Select Host setup and management from the menu
- Under the Deploy category, click on Sensor downloads
- Click the Linux tab, Go to Debian, and Click Download “Debian – 9/10/11/12 – 7.19.17219” (Latest version)
- Copy the customer ID from the right side “How to install” category to the file cid.txt
- Copy falcon-sensor .deb package (e.g. falcon-sensor_7.19.0-17219_amd64.deb) and cid.txt to a USB (Note: the falcon-sensor file name must start with falcon-sensor_ and end with .deb. DO NOT RENAME the downloaded falcon sensor file name.)
(Note: USB MUST be formatted in FAT32 or exFAT file system. NTFS is NOT supported)
Steps for Installing CrowdStrike on Waypoint 3
- Connect an external monitor to the WP3
- Plug in the USB containing the falcon-sensor package and cid.txt file to the WP3
(Note: USB should be FAT32 or exFAT file system, NTFS is NOT supported) - Go to the CrowdStrike menu from OOBE-UI, and choose Install.
- The CrowdStrike script will automatically detect the falcon-sensor .deb package and cid.txt file.
- Click Install
- The script will display “Installing CrowdStrike, please wait…”
- The following message will be displayed upon successful installation of CrowdStrike
Steps to Confirm CrowdStrike Installation
- Go to OOBE-UI, Go to the CrowdStrike menu
- Click Check Installation Status, If you see the following message, CrowdStrike is installed successfully
- Confirm from the CrowdStrike portal
- Click the main menu icon in the upper-left corner
- Select Host Setup and Management from the menu
- Select Host dashboard
- Click Online Hosts
- Confirm the falcon-sensor version and that igw-$DeviceSerialNumber, e.g. igw-450006, is online
