Description:
These steps must be followed to stream to a YouTube Live Event with a Cloud Server.
Additional Information:
YouTube Event
- Log into YouTube
- Ensure Live Streaming is enabled on the http://www.youtube.com/features page
- Open the Creator Studio page
- Expand Live Streaming then select Events
- Click on New live event
- Under Basic info enter information regarding the event such as Title and Start Time
- Click Create Event
- Select either a Single-use stream key or a Reusable stream key
- Single-use will require a new stream key every time the stream is stopped
- Reusable will allow multiple streams regardless of stoppages
- Click on Select a stream and choose Create new stream
- Input a description in the Name field and choose a value for Maximum sustained bitrate that you can support
- Click Save Changes
- Note down the Stream Name and Primary Server URL
Control
- Open Control in a new tab and navigate to Manage -> Outputs
- Select the output for the Cloud Server and click the pencil icon on the top right
- Choose one of the encoders and ensure the Enabled box is checked
- Copy the Stream Name and Primary Server URL into the Filename and Destination fields in Control
- Leave the Authentication box unchecked
- Select one of the YouTube profiles and save the settings by clicking the green check mark on the top right. The profile should match the bitrate and resolution set in Step 10 of the YouTube section
- Start the live stream from the transmitter
- In YouTube, select Live Control Room at the top of the page
- Click the Preview button and select OK
- Select Sync To Preview Player and the stream can be viewed
- Once verified select Start Streaming and choose OK
